Ahmedabad: Accidents claim 4 lives in a day
Four fatal accidents have rocked Ahmedabad city over the last 24 hours. The accidents took place at Bopal, Vasna, Danilimda and Riverfront East.
A teenager boy was mowed down by a speeding car while he was going to school on his cycle at around 7.50am on Friday. The boy came under an AMTS bus due to the strong impact of the accident. The incident took place near India Colony AMTS bus stand in Bopal.
Thirteen-year-old Jaishal Sharma was a local and studied in Class VII of Devashish School. The minor died on the spot. The accused car driver, who the cops say was a woman, fled the spot leaving her vehicle behind.
The bus driver, Paresh Patel, 42, has lodged a complaint against the woman, who was driving the car. “We have seized the car from the spot and started a search to track down the owner of the car,” a police officer said. The cops immediately swept into action in order to clear road where locals had gathered to protest against rash driving.
