State bets big on Magnetic Maharashtra
Starting February 18, more than 150 global CEOs, Indian industry captains, Union ministers, ambassadors and consul generals of countries will converge at the highly-touted Magnetic Maharashtra Global Conference and Exhibition. To be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government expects that MoUs worth Rs 10 lakh crore in infrastructure, chemicals and petrochemicals, and other sectors will be cemented at the summit.
After the inauguration, the PM will hold a closed-door interaction with 50 select CEOs that will reiterate India’s growth story and present opportunities for global business.
Additionally, on February 19, Canadian Prime minister Justin Trudeau or four ministers from his Cabinet are expected to address a special session on trade opportunities between Canada and Maharashtra.
To sell the state as a most favoured destination for investors, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will showcase its flagship projects, including the Mumbai metro, Mumbai-Nagpur Super Communication Expressway, the Mumbai Coastal Road, Trans-Harbour Link and Navi Mumbai International Airport.
