28 lakh tune in to AIR show dedicated to soldiers
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s show ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the most heard radio show on All India Radio is one dedicated to soldiers, called ‘Sandesh to Soldiers’, which features people from the Army or their family members.
The show has an audience of 28 lakh across the country, which is the second largest in terms of purely non-music shows. Even as the number is less in comparison to ‘Mann ki Baat’, which is over a 100 million on an average, it is a huge number, say officials. It was named after Modi’s Diwali message in the year 2016 where he urged the citizens to send ‘Sandesh to Soldiers’ (Message to the Armymen) to show their regard and respect.
The show also gets maximum number of feedback on social media and through other sources. The show airs on 122 stations and FM Rainbow network of the All India Radio, which caters to a large audience. As per the social media team of AIR, on the day that the show is aired, tweets get over 40,000 impressions.
