PNB fraud: Nirav Modi didn’t meet PM Modi at Davos, was part of CII photo event, clarifies BJP
Union Law Minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday strongly objected to Congress allegation that the government is trying to shield businessman Nirav Modi in the PNB fraud case.
Ravi Shankar Prasad said, Wish to make it very clear and this I can also convey on the behalf of the govt that no shall be spared in the banking system who has sought to derail ordinary banking system to help Nirav Modi. This is regardless of stature and status of concerned official”.
Regarding the Mallya comparison made by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Prasad said that the government has cracked down on the liquor baron and similarly in the PNB fraud case too, the government will act tough. Clarifying about Nirav Modi’s photo with PM Modi at Davos, Prasad said, ” Nirav Modi didn’t meet PM Modi at Davos. Nirav Modi had arrived in Davos on his own and was present at CII group photo event”. He further warned the Congress that they shouldn’t resort to picture politics as many cosy pictures of Congress leaders with Mehul Choksi are available.
