Revenge politics led to trashing Amethi food park project: Congress
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
Hours after the Centre said the food park in Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, Amethi, was cancelled as the promoter company failed to comply with requisite conditions for approval, Congress accused the government of indulging in revenge politics.
The party’s communications head Randeep Singh Surjewala said contradictory reasons were being given for the cancellation. “While (Harsimrat Kaur) Badal points at inordinate delay in meeting conditions for final approval, N K Gayagi, a director in her Ministry, says non-availability of proof of land possession led to cancellation.

UPSIDC MD Manoj Singh said Indo-Gulf Fertiliser is in possession of 833 acres. Of this, 72 acres were transferred to the name of the SPV formed to run the park. It’s incorrect to say the SPV didn’t have 50 acres of contiguous land or permission for industrial usage,” he said.
