Ind vs SL: Team for ODI series and T20 announced, Yuvraj Singh axed
Talented Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey has made a comeback into the Indian limited overs squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, veteran batter Yuvraj Singh has been axed from the team. Risabh Pant too has failed to make the cut.
The team is as follows:
Virat Kohli (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma (vice captain), KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur.
BCCI in a communique announced the 15 member team and also declared talented batsman Rohit Sharma as the deputy to captain Kohli. Despite speculations, selectors have kept their faith on veteran keeper and former skipper MS Dhoni. Dinesh Karthik will feel himeself unlucky for missing out despite a good series in West Indies. In his last seven ODI appearances, Yuvraj has managed only 162 runs and was given bowling only once. His sloppy movement in the field has also been a problem.
