Woman molested for stopping man from thrashing dog in Malviya Nagar
A woman has alleged that she was assaulted by a man in her neighbourhood in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar when she tried to save a dog which he was thrashing publicly. The woman claimed to have been slapped and touched inappropriately by the man, who she said was outraged because of her intervention. The accused has been arrested, senior officials said.
According to the woman’s complaint, based on which an FIR was registered at Malviya Nagar police station, the incident took place around 7:30 in the evening on Thursday when she had left her house to visit a nearby market. The woman said as she stepped out, she noticed a man was beating a dog mercilessly.
“I asked him not to beat the helpless creature upon which he got irritated and started abusing me… I asked him not to abuse me, on which he entered my compound and slapped me and pushed me by grabbing my hair. He also tried to grope me below my shoulder area,” the complainant said in her FIR.
