Amit Shah meets RSS chief to thank him for support in northeast election victory
BJP President Amit Shah on Sunday visited Nagpur where he called on RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
In a meeting that lasted over three hours, Shah apprised the RSS Chief of the victories in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. While the BJP dominated Tripura, it formed an alliance with local parties to stake claim to the government in Nagaland and Meghalaya. Also present at the meeting were RSS general secretary Bhaiyaaji Joshi, joint general secretary Dattatrey Hosbale and RSS Central executive member Suresh Soni.
Sources informed DNA that political matters like ensuing elections are never discussed with RSS chief and that too never in a meeting like this where other 2-3 functineries are present. Shah is believed to have apprised Bhagwat about details of BJP victory and also thanked RSS for its contribution in North-Eastern states for the National integration.
Earlier in the day, Shah also held close door discussions with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Mahal area in Nagpur. Shah and Gadkari had a 45-minute long meeting at Gadkari Wada, Gadkari residence in Nagpur.
