Suryakumar Yadav, Sarfaraz Khan get show cause notices, out of probables list
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has issued show cause notices to two batsmen, Suryakumar Yadav and Sarfaraz Khan, for alleged misbehaviour. As a result the MCA has not included them in the list of 25 probables for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 tournament.
Surya, who quit the Ranji Trophy team’s captaincy earlier this season has been asked to explain what prompted him to use foul language directed at MCA officials, during a telephonic conversation with a teammate. Incidentally, the teammate, a fast bowler, had recorded the conversation, which MCA officials have listened to.
Sarfaraz, an Under-19 World Cup team member, would have been banned earlier but received temporary respite because his first innings score of 78 in the semifinal of the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy versus Rajasthan had helped Mumbai reach the final.

However, during the semifinal Sarfaraz had pointed his bat in the direction of the MCA’s junior selectors in an ‘inappropriate manner’ “MCA office-bearers wanted to drop him immediately from the Under-19 team, but as he was a match-winner and the team was in the final, they waited till the tournament was over,” an MCA source said.
Sarfaraz scored 120 in the final against Punjab, as Mumbai won by virtue of a first-inning lead. “They both have been issued show cause notices and MCA disciplinary committee will decide their fate. They have been excluded for Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 probables list,”an MCA source said.
