West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday to seek an interest waiver on the repayment of the Bengal government’s debts, on Sunday said she is not going to Delhi to seek alms.
“I shall meet the PM tomorrow to secure our rights. I am not going to Delhi seeking alms. The state should get its rights,” she said while inaugurating a flyover on the VIP Road on her way to the airport.

“We have waited for over three-and-a-half years and given a test of our patience. We have already paid over Rs 1 lakh crore debt so far. Also, we have waited till the 14th Finance Commission came out with its recommendations,” she said.
