Irrfan Khan signs Nishikant Kamat’s ‘Madaari’
Speaking about the film, Irrfan Khan said that he developed a deep bond with Nishikant when they were shooting for Mumbai Meri Jaan, and that he had been eager to work with him again since then.
After having delivered a resonating performance in his last film ‘Haider‘, the maverick actor Irrfan Khan is back in the news. This time round, it’s for a film titled ‘Madaari’, which he has signed up for none other than director Nishikant Kamat. This film is supposed to be a hard-hitting social thriller which has a strong emotional connect. Readers may recall that this is the second time when Irrfan is working with Nishikant, the first time being the cult film Mumbai Meri Jaan.

Speaking about the film, Irrfan Khan said that he developed a deep bond with Nishikant when they were shooting for Mumbai Meri Jaan, and that he had been eager to work with him again since then. That’s why when Madaari was offered to him, he instantly agreed. On the other hand, Nishikant said that, after Mumbai Meri Jaan, we had to wait for the right script to work with each other again. He added that, besides being a friend, Irrfan is an exemplary actor and that he has learnt a lot from him. Reports have it that Madaari will be shot across locations like Hyderabad, Jaisalmer, Mumbai, Shimla, Dehradun and Delhi.
Madaari’s producer Shailesh Singh said that it was really very exciting to have two talented individuals coming together for Madaari. He added that they will be commencing the post production shortly and are looking to release the film during July-August this year.
Besides Irrfan Khan, Madaari will also star Jimmy Sheirgill in a prominent role, besides others.
