AIADMK push for Mufti govt dismissal

The AIADMK made a forceful demand in Lok Sabha Tuesday for the dismissal of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government in J&K along with a ban on the PDP because of its alleged “anti-national act” of releasing Masarat Alam.

AIADMK floor leader P Venugopal, who raised the issue during zero hour, said: “The Prime Minister and the Home Minister explained the situation about the release of a separatist within a few days of forming PDP-BJP government in J&K.” However, he made it clear, “We are not satisfied with the explanation. We want to know what the clarifications sought from the state government are.”

Venugopal said that Mufti, “undeterred by the furore created by the release of the separatist, adding insult to injury, directed the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir to release about a dozen more separatists and also several other prisoners”.
