Punjab drug racket: ED may quiz Majithia again
AFTER submitting its chargesheet in the Patiala court on March 3 against 12 accused in the multi-crore synthetic drug racket of Punjab, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may soon summon Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia for questioning for the second time.
The summons would be issued on the basis of the recorded statement of one of the main accused chargesheeted in the case, Daljit Singh Chahal, who has claimed that he gave Rs 35 lakh as election funds to Majithia between 2007 and 2012.

However, Majithia refuted the allegations as baseless and questioned as to why Chahal gave this statement after one-and-half years of being booked in the case.
ED sources said after the chargesheet of the 12 accused, Majithia is likely be summoned as some of the accused — who were questioned again in January and February this year — gave different statements from what they had given earlier.
Bittu Aulakh, Varinder Raja and Sukhjit Sukha from Nabha jail and Chahal were investigated again by the ED earlier this year.
