In Himachal Assembly, Virbhadra Singh moves his hips in pahari style
Virbhadra Singh shows off his dance moves mocking BJP’s protest against his govt in Himachal Assembly.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Thursday added spice in the tense moments of the state assembly proceedings by making dance gestures in typical pahari style of Himachali nati (folk dance). This he did during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s angry protest over the government’s resistance to an adjournment motion.
Leaving the opposition MLAs amused and ruling party benches surprised over his rhythmic dance moves, CM Virbhadra apparently did so to mock the protesting MLAs who had entered Well and trooped near his table to raise slogans.
Led by former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the BJP MLAs were protesting over state government’s resistance to an adjournment motion that they had tabled to seek discussion on violence at its office during a Youth Congress protest on January 29, 2015. The protest was led by Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh, who is also the Youth Congress president.

The chief minister did not lose his composure despite the BJP members continuing their agitation in the House targeting him in particular.
When a sitting MLA Maheshwar Singh took offence to the BJP’s disruption and recalled the high traditions of the House, Dhumal reminded him of similar protests by the Congress when he was Chief Minister.
Dhumal named sitting Minister Sujan Singh Pathania, who used to sing songs in Punjabi while other members used to make noise near his table to disrupt the House .
“I understand Punjabi and can speak a better language. So there is nothing which the BJP had done to feel shamed off as the Congress had been worst in his actions. Virbhadra Singh ji, you should member how you hit by tabled and also tore papers once,” he said.
