Anushka Sharma’s debut production ‘NH10’ releases today
Anushka Sharma: When ‘NH10′ came to me, it excited me.
She’s blown us away quite a few times with her onscreen performances in films like ‘Band Baaja Baarat’, ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ and her last release, ‘PK’, however this time Anushka Sharma will not just be starring in the thriller, but has also turned producer for the film.
The Navdeep Singh-directed film tells the thrilling tale of a couple on a road trip. The title of the film refers to the 403 km long National Highway 10 that starts from Delhi, passes through Haryana via Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa and ends at the Pakistan border in Punjab. Somewhere along the way, the trip takes a bad turn when they are accosted by a group of hardened criminals.

The poster definitely had us intrigued on its release. It depicts the ‘PK’ actress on an isolated, poorly lit and lonely path with a rod in her hand.
The film also features ‘Ungli’ actor Neil Bhoopalam, palying Anushka’s husband. Darshan Kumaar from ‘Mary Kom’ is seen in a negative role.
Talking about her maiden production venture at a press meet, Anushka Sharma said, “Acting and production are two very different areas. When ‘NH10′ came to me, it excited me. I had not read anything like that ever before. And I took up the movie. The script actually caught my imagination and it still does, everytime I read it. I decided to produce it because I believed in the script. When ‘NH10′ came to me, it seemed like the right time to start off with production. I feel so strongly for this film that I felt like backing it in this way.”
‘NH10′ just might be the best film of Anushka’s career.
‘NH10′ review will be up shortly. Keep watching the space for more.
