Bombay Velvet trailer is out: Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar take you back to the 60s
‘Bombay Velvet’s first trailer, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar, brings to life the Bombay of 60s.
Bombay of the 60s is brought alive onscreen perfectly by Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in the first trailer of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’. One can see men dapper in suits, women with bouffant hair styles.
You get a glimpse of cage fighter Johny Balraj played by Ranbir Kapoor, Rosie the Jazz singer played by Anushka Sharma and the film’s main antagonist Karan Johar. This is producer-director Karan Johar’s first full-length negative role, he plays the role of a Parsi businessman Kaizad Khambatta.
The first trailer is also packed with quite a few lip locks between the film’s lead pair – Ranbir and Anushka.

Screenplay of Bombay Velvet, that has been in the making for the last five years, is jointly written by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Film’s lead actress Anushka Sharma also tweeted the movie’s first poster.

Raveena Tandon, Manish Choudhary, and TV producer Siddharth Basu will also be seen in supporting roles in the film.
The movie has music by Amit Trivedi, who has concentrated on jazz music for Anushka’s character Rosie, a singer. Bombay Velvet, which is a large screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash’s ‘Mumbai Fables’, will release on May 15.
