The Marine Drive police have sought opinion from the law officer of the Mumbai Police in connection with the recommendation made by the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights to file an FIR against actor Shah Rukh Khan in connection with the 2012 brawl at the Wankhede stadium.
Simultaneously, the police have also initiated inquiries to ascertain the exact sequence of events on the day of the alleged incident.

The guard had refused to let him enter the stadium ground with his children after an IPL match, which sparked off the argument. Last week, the child rights commission, hearing a petition by advocate Abha Singh, directed police to file an FIR against Khan for using abusive language in front of his children.
“We are currently seeking legal opinion from the law officer in regard to the commission’s directive. We received a copy of its order on Monday and have sent it to the law officer. We will soon have a meeting to decide what sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act are applicable in the case,” said a senior officer with the Mumbai Police.
Meanwhile, the police have also started re-examining files containing witness statements and other documents pertaining to the incident.
“The file contains transcripts of video recordings made by television news channels of the incident, which will help us understand the matter better,” said the officer. The police said after its inquiries were complete, the findings would be discussed with the law officer and then further course of action would be decided.
