Australia will beat India in the semi-final, predict ‘bookmakers’

New Zealand’s leading betting site TAB is placing Australia as favourite with odds of 1.40 to 1, while India are at 2.80 to 1. Even in United Kingdom, betting platform William Hill is placing Australia ahead of India. William Hill is also placing as Australia as favourite to win the World Cup at odds of 11/10, New Zealand at 6/4 and India at 7/2 follow next in line. One of UK’s leading betting sites, Ladbrokes is also offering odds of 2/5 to Australia, whereas India are being placed at 2/1.

Paddypower, another UK based company is offering odds of 2/5 for Indian elimination in the semi-final stage of the World Cup, while Australia are being pegged at 15/8 for a semi-final exit. The same company is offering odds of 9/2 for India to win the World Cup, whereas Australia at 11/10 and New Zealand at 11/8 are more fancied.

Down in Australia, there is no doubt who is the most favoured to win the semi-final contest. Australia are the local favourite so the odds are 1.38, while for India it is 3.10.
Even in terms of best batsmen in the semi-final, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are being rated very highly by the bookmakers. For Australia David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Michael Clarke are being pegged at high value. Pacers Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson for Australia, while India’s Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohit Sharma are hot picks for the bookmakers.
