Independent MLA Engineer Abdul Rashid was marshaled out of the Legislative Assembly after he continued disrupting proceedings during question hour while standing in the well of the House.
Rashid had entered the well as the House assembled protesting over the Speaker’s decision not to allow his resolution seeking return of mortal remains of the parliament attack convict Afzal Guru to his family members in the Valley. “Why my resolution has been rejected,” he asked.

He kept standing in the well for nearly 55 minutes banging table of the House and even directly addressing opposition members including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to support his demand in view of their respective party stand.
For his repeated disruptions, he even got snubs from Devender Rana (NC) and even M Y Tarigami (CPI-M). “Don’t make me open my mouth… I know your worth…Sellable man,” Rana told Rashid.
Tarigami asked the Speaker to ensure decorum in the House for smooth conduct of listed business. “Speaker Sahib, he is creating disruptions and you are sitting quietly…You are the custodian of the House,” he said.
Following this, Speaker Kavinder Gupta asked the member to return to his seat, saying “Rashid Sahib you are compelling me to get you out of the house”. As Rashid did not listen, he was marshaled out of the house.
