Over 500 costumes for wedding sequence in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Mirziya’

‘Mirziya’ is one of the most anticipated films for debutants Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to his next film, ‘Mirziya’, a contemporary love story set in Rajasthan.

Debutante actress Saiyami Kher’s wedding sequence in the film is said to be one of the most crucial scenes. Since it was a Rajasthani wedding, the director made sure that everything looked perfect. He especially looked into the costumes and decorations.

Authentic costumes were required for each and every person, and a number of junior artistes were involved. A professional pagdi maker was called to make over 500 pagdis for the scene. More than 500 jootis and costumes were also arranged. Earlier, the director had also ordered for five trucks of marigold flowers.
