Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan revealed his ambitions to direct a film at the 20th anniversary celebrations for Zee TV here.
The King Khan, who has shied away from committing himself to a role behind the camera in the past, also praised television as a great medium for storytelling.
“As a filmmaker and producer who would one day like to direct films, I think television is a great medium and an amazing platform,” said Khan, who took time out from shooting for his next film ‘Fan’ in Croatia to attend Zee Network’s gala event in central London on Wednesday night.
“As someone who started on TV with ‘Fauji’, TV remains my first love. I think it would be the nicest step up for me to come back and tell stories on TV. That is the future,” said the star behind the flagship show ‘India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?’ for Zee’s new channel called ‘&TV’.

Zee Network Europe CEO Neeraj Dhingra said: “ZEE TV has been a pioneer in bringing great Asian entertainment to the UK and fostering the cultural ties with India. Our objective has been to produce innovative, engaging, and creative programming for our viewers and deliver exceptional value.
“We are constantly striving to reach wider audiences with a desire to entertain through Indian and local content and build a sense of ownership, pride and passion amongst our employees. And this connect with our viewers and employees is what has created a Zee family.”
