Sandeep Patil not to be MCA selector next season
There has been talk of Sandeep Patil relying heavily on other selectors to pick the Mumbai team.
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) chairman of selection committee Sandeep Patil has asked the MCA not to consider him for that role for the next season. Patil, a national selection committee chief of BCCI, had resigned from his post two season ago as well but had returned last season. However, his resignation is unlikely to have any affect as BCCI selector. Patil has been facing criticism in Mumbai circuit for not devoting enough time to local cricket despite been the chairman of MCA selection committee.
There has been talk of Patil relying heavily on other selectors to pick the Mumbai team. While Patil refused to comment on the matter the MCA joint-secretary Nitin Dalal said the former had not resigned. “He has not resigned he has informed us not to consider him for next season. He will be attending next selection committee meeting soon,” Dalal said.
