‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ collects Rs 14.06 cr in its opening weekend

Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput is owing to strong and positive word of mouth showing improvements in terms of collections.

Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput has amassed 14.06 crore in its opening weekend at the Box Office.

After opening to an average start with Rs 4.20 cr, the thriller took on pace with Rs 4.50 cr on Saturday (April 4).

The movie, owing to strong and positive word of mouth, managed to further show improvement in terms of collections with Rs 5.36 cr.

Based on Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s well known and successful fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshy, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ is a contemporary interpretation of Calcutta (now Kolkata) during the 1940s.

The film also features Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee.
