Telangana: Five alleged SIMI activists shot dead after escape bid

Five alleged SIMI activists were shot dead when they tried to escape while being taken to Hyderabad court from Warangal prison.

They were killed when they tried to escape on the way near Janagon in Telangana. Those killed include Vikaruddin, an alleged SIMI activist and main culprit responsible for firing on Hyderabad police. The other four Suleman, Zakir, Azad and Asif were suspected SIMI activists arrested in the past in connection with firing at policemen.

They were remanded at Warangal Central Jail. An officer said Vikaruddin had links with Pakistan’s ISI.
