The author thanked the Mumbai Police for placing adequate security outside her residence. “Police barricades are up! I am feeling perfectly calm and safe! Thank you, Mumbai Police,” she tweeted.
Have been warned there is a Shiv Sena Morcha heading for my home at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik moved a breach of privilege against De while objecting to her tweets on the issue.
While the ruling BJP defended the decision saying it would promote Marathi cinema, De had tweeted through her official handle @DeShobhaa, saying, “No more pop corn at multiplexes at Mumbai? Dahi misal and vada pav only. To go better with the Marathi movies at prime time.”

Another tweet from her said, “Devendra ‘Diktatwala’ Fadnavis is at it again!! From beef to movies. This is not the Maharashtra we all love! Nako! Nako! Yeh sab roko!”
Responding to the privilege motion, Shobhaa tweeted on Wednesday, “Now a privilege motion demanding an apology from me? Come on! I’m a proud Maharashtrain and love Marathi films. Always have. Always will!”
