‘Masaan’, ‘Chauthi Koot’ make it to Cannes Film Festival
‘Masaan’, ‘Chauthi Koot’ have been selected for Cannes.
Two Indian films “Chauthi Koot” and “Masaan” have made it to the Un Certain Regard section of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
“Masaan” (Fly Away Solo) has been directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and is an Indo-French co-production produced by Manish Mundra, Macassar Productions, Phantom Films, Sikhya Entertainment, Arte France Cinema and Pathe productions. It stars Richa Chadda, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal among others.

Ghaywan took to twitter to express his delight over the selection, saying, “Happiest tweet I will ever put up. Our first film, Masaan is selected at Un Certain Regard section of
Cannes 2015.”
Chadda also tweeted her excitement. “And it’s out! Our film #Masaan makes it to #Cannes2015 in #UnCertainRegard ! Congratulations to @ghaywan. I love you! Mucho gracias for this Congratulations to @anuragkashyap72 @guneetm

The other film is Gurvinder Singh’s “Chauthi Koot” (Fourth Direction). This is Singh’s second movie after “Anhe Ghore Da Daan” and is based on two short stories by Punjabi writer Waryam Singh Sandhu.
“Chauthi Koot” has been co-produced by Kartikeya Singh and Sunil Doshi in India and Catherine Dussart in France. The film is about the state-sponsored crimes of the 1980s and the resistance movement it spawned.
