‘Dil Dhadakne Do’s ‘Gallan Goodiyaan': Ranveer, Priyanka dance like no one’s watching
Ranveer is himself in the song – fun, cool and stupendous. Priyanka lip-syncs Yashita Sharma and emotes really well.
By the looks and feel, the Mehras seemed the epitome of sophistication in the official trailer and title track of the upcoming movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. But the sophistication too has its limits. And the second song ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’ of the movie certainly proves so.
Watch the song:

The Punjabi (read: too much Punjabi) number ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’ shows a hyper-energetic Priyanka Chopra and the energy-bunny-calling-to-be-bottled-up Ranveer Singh dancing like no one’s watching. But we are watching, and we must say no one matches Ranveer ‘Energy’ Singh when it comes to being himself.
So, Ranveer is himself in the song – fun, cool and stupendous. Priyanka lip-syncs Yashita Sharma and emotes really well.
Then there is our evergreen star Anil Kapoor, who along with Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer does the ‘Lakhan’ step and it’s absolute fun to watch him do that. The chemistry that the trio shares looks effortless and movie-defining, because this alone can define the graph of the movie.
Anushka is missing in the song, and we’d have loved had Rahul Bose been missing too; for Rahul and bhangra make for a bad combination.
There are Riddhima Sud, Vikrant Massey, Zarina Wahab, Manoj Pahwa and Parmeet Sethi among others who add glitter to the song.
The music is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Javed Akhtar and true to the combination, the song does sound peppy and fun, though it fails at points; blame it on the long list of recognisable actors in the song or the sheer effort in showing the song to be a party number. It is indeed a party number, but looks forced.
For alcohol lovers, there is a barrage of bear mugs lined up too.
After the not-so-impressive title track, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ is on the path of redemption. But we hoped for more, Zoya. Apologies.
