Interim protection from arrest to Rati Agnihotri’s husband
Rati Agnihotri, who starred in the 1981 blockbuster `Ek Duje Ke Liye’ among other films, filed a complaint with Worli police here on March 14, accusing Virwani of domestic violence.
The special court for women’s cases here today granted interim protection from arrest to yesteryear Bollywood actor Rati Agnihotri’s husband in connection with a case of domestic violence filed by her.
“The court granted interim protection to Anil Virwani, her husband, till May 12,” said Public Prosecutor Nileema Kasture.

Agnihotri, who starred in the 1981 blockbuster `Ek Duje Ke Liye’ among other films, filed a complaint with Worli police here on March 14, accusing Virwani of domestic violence.
The 54-year-old actress, who stays with her architect-businessman husband and the actor son Tanuj, said in the complaint that she had been suffering the violence at Virwani’s hands for a long time.
On April 29, she filed a second complaint, alleging that Virwani had threatened her with a knife.
Virwani approached the sessions court yesterday seeking pre-arrest bail.
Special judge Vrushali Joshi is likely to hear his plea on May 12. In the meantime, the court restrained police from arresting him.
