However, not much is known about this pop star, except that he was never available after the incident took place. But, now since Kamaal Khan’s name has suddenly been declared the star witness in Salman Khan hit-and-run case, we thought it’s time we introduced him to readers.

Kamaal Khan is a Bollywood/Hindi Pop singer, actor, songwriter, music producer and businessman and currently resides in Zurich, Switzerland. His first claim to fame was his debut production single, ‘O Oh Janne Jaana’ in 1995. It featured in Salman Khan’s ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ and became a worldwide hit. Following his debut hit, Kamaal was immediately signed by record label HMV in December 1997.

In 1999, Kamaal Khan was honoured with the ‘R.D.Burman’ Filmfare Award for the ‘Most Promising Upcoming Talent’, becoming the first UK born winner of a Filmfare Award. Kamaal Khan later went on to successfully release solo albums – ‘O Oh Jaane Jana’, ‘Suno To Deewana Dil’ and ‘Kal Raat’. He then, shot a music video with director Shivraj Santhakumar for ‘Kal Raat’ in Rome, which landed him his debut acting role in director Rahul Rawail’s ‘Jo Bole So Nihaal’. The singer has also collaborated with ace music composer and Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.

His other onscreen appearance includes NDTV’s Imagine’s reality show, ‘Dhoom Macha De’, where he appeared as a contestant.
Kamaal Khan was never examined as a prosecution witness in the Salman Khan 2002 hit-and-run case. On the night of the incident, he is said to have ran away from the spot along with convicted actor, Salman Khan. However, his statement was later recorded by the Bandra Police.
