Having impressed the audiences and critics alike with his performances in ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, R Madhavan is making a comeback to the silver screen after a brief sabbatical of four years.
Last seen in ‘Jodi Breakers’ opposite Bipasha Basu, the actor says that content is more important than stars.
In an interview to Hindustan Times, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actor talks about the Aanand L Rai directorial being a suprise hit. He says, “I think that’s how good films are made. Content is more important than stars. It was a small budget film but everyone loved the subject and that’s the reason we took the decision to make a sequel. There wasn’t a single actor from the first film who didn’t want to be part of the sequel.”

Madhavan says, “Of course I will be overshadowed by her. It is bound to happen more so because of my absence but I don’t mind that. I am confident about impressing the audience with my performance.”
Citing the reason behind taking the break, Madhavan says that he wants to work with new directors who are open to experimenting and that he doesn’t want to do the same thing again and again.
‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is a sequel to the hit movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and it’s said that the director Aanand L Rai made sure that all the characters who were in the first movie should be there in the second too. The movie is slated to release on May 22.
