“The high court had directed Khan to furnish the bond,” said advocate Mundargi who was present in Court for the actor on Wednesday.
Explaining the need for a personal surety, Mundargi said, “the court generally directs the accused to furnish such a bond. In circumstances when the accused is absconding or fails to appear in court, the personal surety person is held accountable for the accused and takes it upon himself to ensure the accused’s presence.”
The court will now hear the matter on June 15, when it will give directions regarding the hearing of Khan’s appeal against the conviction in July.
