Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is surprised to see the buzz created around her comeback film “Jazbaa” not only here in India, but at Cannes as well.
“I am just thankful and it feels great that audience are showing interest in my film,” Aishwarya Rai, who is at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival as an Indian ambassador for global cosmetic brand L’Oreal Paris.
In a video chat with the media from Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was happy to share the response she received for her comeback film “Jazbaa“, directed by Sanjay Gupta.
“It was fun and I was very happy to see that film is making buzz not only in India, but here at Cannes as well. Presonally, I am not on social media but I am for sometime for L’Oreal and I saw it was trending at No. 1 in India.”
True to the name, Aishwarya Rai, though bogged down and shattered, looks all set to fight back with an uncanny ‘Jazbaa’ in her eyes.
“It was definitely being recognised. Even in the interactions here (at Cannes), everyone was like ‘Jazbaa’ has become topical and is creating buzz,” she added.
“Jazbaa”, an action-drama, also features Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and others. The team gave a sneak peek of the film at Cannes fest gala on Tuesday. (See Pics: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan woos Cannes in voluminous Ralph & Russo gown)
“As artists, we always want that people come and watch our film and appreciate it. We have worked hard and it’s wonderful that people have appreciated the first look,” Aishwarya Rai, who was last seen on the silver screen in 2010 film “Guzaarish” said.
The former beauty queen will take part in amfAR gala at the Cannes fest on Thursday.
