After playing ‘The Punisher’, Dolph Lundgren returns to superhero genre with ‘Aquaman’
Actor Dolph Lundgren will reportedly appear in the film “Aquaman”.
The 59-year-old action star will portray King Nereus, who is the leader of the aquatic world Xebel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Nereus claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.
The film, which is a Warner Bros adaptation of the DC Comic, will be directed by James Wan.
The star cast also includes Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, along with actor Jason Momoa, who appears in the titular role.
Meanwhile, Lundgren has also teamed up with Jean-Claude Van Damme for a new action flick Black Water.
Lundgren is known for his works like Rocky IV, Expendables. He played Marvel Comics antihero Frank Castle in 1989’s The Punisher. He now joins the list of artists jumping ships from Marvel to DC or vice versa after Ryan Reynolds did so with Green Lantern and Deadpool. Ben Affleck (Daredevil, Batman V Superman), and Joss Whedon (Avengers, Batgirl) are the other luminaries on that list.
