Special Cell police nab wanted criminal carrying Rs 75,000 reward
The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 75,000. Umesh was arrested near Rohtak road in the wee hours after a brief encounter in which he also fired at the police team to evade arrest.
“A semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore loaded with four live cartridges and a country made pistol .315 bore along with three live cartridges were recovered. Several criminal cases including that of murder, attempt to murder, threat have been registered against him. He was wanted by the Haryana police as well,” said DCP, Special Cell, Sanjeev Yadav.
In July 2016, Umesh and his associates had murdered a person named Amit in Mukherjee Nagar area of Delhi due to some personal enmity. The next morning they again attempted to murder Sudhir, Amit’s paternal uncle in Jhajjar, Haryana. Due to his involvement in these heinous crimes Delhi and Haryana Police had declared rewards for his arrest.
