Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif says will continue to work, not awaiting ‘Panama Papers’ verdict
Ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on the Panama Leaks case, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said he is not waiting for any decision and was elected by people to work.
Sharif made these statements while chairing the PML-N’s consultative meeting on Wednesday, the Dawn reported.
“I am working and will continue to work. Whatever decision is taken by the court, Insha Allah would be better,” Sharif was quoted by sources as saying.
He told party members that elections in Pakistan will be held as per schedule in 2018.
The judgement will be announced by a five-member larger bench, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on slew of petitions seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the wake of explosive disclosures of the Panama Papers, reports the Express Tribune.
The bench had reserved its verdict on February 23 and said that it will review all angles of the case in detail and then announce a verdict.
