Amazon celebrates its Oscars with free Prime accounts for people who live in Manchester-by-the-Sea
Manchester by the Sea, one of Amazon Studios’ first Academy Award-winning films, is coming to Prime Video this Friday. In celebration, Amazon is giving the residents of the real Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, a free year of Amazon Prime and some popcorn.
Amazon’s first year at the Oscars was an important one for the platform, so the celebration isn’t as random as it might seem. Manchester by the Sea was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and won the award for Best Original Screenplay this year.
