Ankit Tiwari rape case to be REOPENED, complainant claims she was ‘pressurised’ to withdraw it
It was only a few days ago that the Mumbai Sessions Court acquitted music composer and playback singer Ankit Tiwari on all charges of rape, but the case won’t be closed for very long. The victim plans to reopen the case by appealing to a higher court.
Ankit was acquitted a few days ago as the “complainant turned hostile and the prosecution failed to gather enough evidence against him”, as per a report in Times of India. However, the victim then produced a copy of the letter Ankit and his brother Ankur Tiwari signed, saying that they would not say anything negative about the complainant in public and would not malign her name.
However, it was Ankit’s interview with a leading daily where he called the accusations false and talked about the “trauma” he went through that made the complainant reconsider closing the case.
