Tej Pratap Yadav at centre of another corruption scandal
Firing a fresh salvo against RJD president Lalu Prasad’s family, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday accused the veteran leader’s elder son, and Bihar health minister, Tej Pratap Yadav of illegally acquiring a petrol pump in Patna by misrepresenting land ownership details.
The BJP functionary has held almost a dozen press conferences to disclose the “ill-gotten wealth” of the Yadav clan, ever since he made the first ‘exposé’ on April 4. Sushil Modi has accused Prasad’s family of illegally acquiring over Rs 1,000 crore through Benami deals.
On Friday, Modi alleged that Tej Pratap had been illegally allotted a Bharat Petroleum petrol pump near Beur in Patna, in 2011, based on false documents furnished by him. “Tej Pratap did not have 43 decimal of land on New Bypass Road in 2011 when he had appeared for an interview before the petrol pump,” said Modi.
However, AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd on January 9, 2012, gave 136 decimal of land on lease at the same place for opening a petrol pump to Tej Pratap’s younger brother and Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Modi alleged adding that as per the lease deed, Tejashwi cannot “sub-let” the said land.
