AAP MLAs assault Kapil Mishra inside Delhi Assembly
A high level drama took place outside the Delhi Assembly on Wednesday after sacked minister Kapil Mishra was dragged and allegedly assaulted by few AAP MLAs after he held out a banner raising allegations of corruption against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendra Jain.
Earlier, the session which aimed to pass the GST Bill for the Capital kicked off with a happy note with ministers and MLAs putting their point about the state government’s achievements this year. Seated in the second row, rebel minister Mishra stood up with a banner in his hand levelling corruption charges against Kejriwal and Jain, and asking to organise a special session in Ramlila Maidan. As he began to speak, a few AAP MLAs attacked Mishra. He was dragged and strangled by few of them.
As the scuffle continued, Speaker of the Assembly Ram Niwas Goel directed the marshal to take Mishra out. “Please take him out of the assembly. This is no way to behave in the session. Maintain the decorum of the assembly,” Goel said as Mishra was thrown out of the session. Later, Goel adjourned the House, for 15 minutes
