The govt doc behind Kapil Mishra’s expose
The man behind the expose of the alleged Rs 300 crore medical procurement scam that estranged AAP leader Kapil Mishra claim credit for is a doctor working in a Delhi government hospital.
Dr Avinash Kumar, currently working with Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, put the information and documents about the alleged swindle in public domain in August last year and tipped off Mihra who chose to remain silent then.
Kumar, accessed internal communication between various officials and government agencies dealing with procurement of medicine. He uploaded the information on his website www.corruptionfile.com.in July last year giving evidence of expired medicine being supplied to hospitals.
On Thursday, the Anti Corruption Branch carried out searches in various locations in Delhi after Mishra gave a formal complaint. A copy of the complaint was also marked to the President, Prime Minister, Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Health Minister and Chief Secretary and emailed to all Delhi MLAs including Mishra.
