FINALLY! This is when Prakash Jha’s ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ will release in India!
Lipstick Under My Burkha was in the news for a while ever since the CBFC denied certification to the film for being “too lady-oriented.” However, after a long fight with the Censor Board, the film will now release on July 28. Ekta Kapoor is going to help producer Prakash Jha to promote the film and make people aware about it before it’s release.
Prakash Jha met Ekta Kapoor and told Mumbai Mirror, “Ekta has done path-breaking work with her women characters. She’s inverted the power structure on television, making women characters the epicentre of the power game. She has a strong feminist pulse and I was keen to know what she felt about our film. She told me she wanted to present it through her studio and I thought it would be fantastic for the film.”
