JK Rowling unfollows ‘liberal’ who called Theresa May a ‘wh***’ on Twitter; gives master-class on misogyny
They don’t call Harry Potter author JK Rowling the ‘Queen of Twitter’ for nothing.
Rowling, who has over 10 million followers has been praised and criticised for taking a stand on several issues including same sex marriage, Brexit, and the Scottish referendum.
Rowling immediately came to the defence of May on Friday after the UK General election verdict. Someone, who Rowling said found funny, called May a wh***, which resulted in the Harry Potter author unfollowing him on the social media site.
After that, Rowling in a series of 14, well-articulated tweets, gave her followers as master-class on misogyny. “Just unfollowed a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a wh***. If you can’t disagree with a woman without reaching for all those filthy old insults, screw you and your politics.
