Used to spend 10-11 hours reading: AIIMS topper
Nishita Purohit, the first rank holder in AIIMS’s MBBS entrance exams, took entrance coaching lessons from Kota-based Allen Institute, after completing her class 10 from Essar International School in Hazira, Surat. She secured her higher secondary education from Pragati Public Senior Secondary School in Kota.
About her entrance preparations, Nishita said, “besides coaching, I used to study 5-6 hours daily. Two months before the exam, I used to dedicate 10-11 hours to reading up.” Nishita, a national-level basketball player, hopes to become an IAS officer.
“Nishita has worked very hard over the past two years. After class 10, she decided to pursue a career in medicine and took admission at a coaching institute in Kota. Her hard-work has paid-off,” says her mother Himanshu.
AIIMS declared results of its MBBS online entrance test on Thursday, after a government panel rejected allegations of a question paper leak.
