Jaipur receives 12 mm rain; Monsoon expected by June 30
It will take next 2-3 days for monsoon onset over the state but few parts of the state witnessed light to moderate rainfall for the second consecutive day on Monday. Though, highly humid conditions made people sweat post showers.
Meanwhile, showers could not bring temperatures down and mercury crossed 44 degrees Celsius mark at many places.
Despite scattered showers at isolated areas in Jaipur, Monday morning was hot and humid. In the afternoon, cloud activities started in the sky that soon turned into showers.
As per the MeT office report, 12.2 mm rainfall was recorded in Jaipur on Monday. Areas including Murlipura, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Sikar Road, Jhotwara, Khatipura, Vaishali Nagar, Chitrakoot, Nirman Nagar, Ajmer Road, Shyam Nagar, Gurjar Ki Thadi, Gopalpura Byepass and Mahesh Nagar witnessed showers but later, humidity bothered people.
These showers could not affect the temperature that continued to be recorded 3-4 degrees above normal. As per MeT report, maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 40.5 and 30.5 degrees respectively.
MeT forecast that thunderstorm with rain is likely to occur during next 24 hours, while maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 38 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
