HC grants regular bail ED’s former Additional Director General
The state high court on Friday has granted regular bail to the Enforcement Directorate’s former Additional Director General in a corruption case.
The single bench justice SH Vora has granted regular bail to JP Singh, former Additional Director General , Enforcement directorate with condition to cooperate in prosecution and should not try to influence the witnesses of the case.
Central Bureau of Investigation had arrested Singh in connection with the complaint lodged by the Director General of of Enforcement Directorate alleging that Singh in connivance with other officers had taken bribe from the Havala operators and bookies to weaken case against them. A complaint was lodged in 2015 and almost after 18 months in this February, Singh and three other persons were arrested. Since the day of his arrest, Singh was in jail. His earlier attempts to get temporary or regular bail had failed.
