PMO to police: File report, take action against errant cop
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has asked for a report from the Noida police and told them to take action against a sub-inspector who had beaten up an engineer Shivansh Srivastava on January 27 this year. The sub-inspector, Vijender Bhadana, who is from Noida Sector 49 police station, had beaten up the man after he tweeted about a road in Noida.
Talking to DNA, the victim said that he hoped the involvement of the PMO would result in action. “Ironically even after found guilty in the internal probe, no action has been taken against Bhadana,” he said.
Talking about his experience, Srivastava said that on January 27, he was returning home to Noida Sector 41 from Noida Phase II when he saw a biker slip near the Barola crossing.
“I rushed to help him. Then I saw more motorcycles slipping at the spot. Some people noticed a slippery chemical on the road, which was leading to the accidents. I dialed 100 and tweeted to the UP DGP and a police van reached the spot some 15-20 minutes later. The cops, however, said no action was required as nobody was injured or had died,” he said.
