Nightmares, health issues plague hit-and-run victim
Life has not been the same for freelance journalist Mrigank Srivastava, who was injured in the 2008 Utsav Bhasin hit and run case. Srivastava, who was returning from PVR Saket after watching the film Rock On with his friend Anuj Singh, still has nightmares about the incident.
“It has changed my life forever. Due to the steroids given to me during the injury, I gained excess weight. I was admitted to the hospital five times in four years in between 2012-2016. My food packet was removed after a bariatric surgery. Because of this I cannot eat anything more than two chapattis and two glasses of water,” Mrigank said. Due to the operations and constant ongoing medication, he can only sip his two glasses of water with a sipper.
The ill-fated motorcycle lies on the terrace unused.
Recalling his experience when he was returning from the multiplex, and after he was hit by the BMW from behind, he said. “I do not remember what happened after the incident. I regained consciousness after three days and got to know that I lost my closest friend Anuj in the incident. It was so traumatic that I have not stepped into PVR Saket following the incident.”
