Maha CM points out similarity between Cong and NCP letters despite rift
The rift between Congress and NCP was evident on Sunday when they addressed separate press conferences on the eve of the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly, scheduled to begin on Monday. Interestingly, both the Congress and the NCP, on Sunday, handed over separate letters to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, while boycotting the tea party he hosted.
Referring to the boycott by the Opposition, Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “The typist seems to be the only thing common to both because the letter stating the tea party boycott submitted by the NCP and the Congress were identical.”
Addressing a press conference at Sahyadri Guest House, Fadnavis said that both the letters are essentially the same, including paragraphs, punctuation, and language. Fadnavis said that it was perhaps for the first time that the Opposition is divided and is addressing separate press conferences on the eve of an Assembly session.
When asked why the contributions of Balasaheb Thackeray will not be recounted along with other leaders, Fadnavis reminded that the entire House, including members of all parties, have already shown their support in erecting a Balasaheb Thackeray memorial.
