Alcatel just released two new budget smartphones
Alcatel has just announced two new additions to its budget smartphone lineup today at IFA 2017: the Idol 5 and A7.
Targeted at millennials, the Idol 5 comes with a feature called App Cloner, that duplicates social apps like Instagram and WhatsApp, allowing you to be logged in to two accounts without having to log out, which is nice. Outside of that, it’s your standard sub-$300 phone:
- 5.2-inch full HD display
- 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor
- 16GB of storage, 3GB of RAM
- 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera
- 2,800mAh battery
The Alcatel A7 is a slightly bigger, slightly more powerful, and slightly cheaper version of the Idol 5, but without the millennial-targeted gimmicks:
