Helipad but no swine flu test facility at Jhalawar Hosp
Jhalawar Medical College, that is planning to have helipad facility still does not have medical test facility for swine flu. The machine for swine flu test is available in the medical college, but it has not been installed. Strikingly, swine flu has so far claimed two lives with 12 patients detected positive with the H1N1 virus in Jhalawar district since January this year. Currently, the suspected patients for swine flu have to wait for around two to three days for the report as the samples are sent to 81 kilometres away in Central Lab of MBS hospital in Kota.
‘The machine for swine flu test is available in the medical college, but it has not been installed and the samples of the suspected patients have to be sent to Kota for the test, said Dr Yogendra Tiwari, nodal officer, Swine Flu, Jhalawar Medical College. The process for the installation of the swine flu test machine is underway and after a week of its validation following the installation, the swine flu test facility would also be available in Jhalawar, he added.
